Men! Eat This!

Weight Loss Fort Wayne IN Vilulu Recipe

If you’re a man, here are 3 tips about what you should be eating:

  1. All food sources of lycopene - especially cooked or raw tomato products or watermelon - can provide a layer of protection against prostate cancer. One Harvard study showed that 10 servings a day cut the risk by 35%!
  2. Cruciferous veggies such as Brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and kale are powerful prostate cancer fighters.
  3. Consume a combination of foods that are rich in folic acid, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12! Together, these nutrients help to protect the arteries. You can find folic acid in beets, broccoli, spinach, and lentils. Vitamin B6 sources include tuna, turkey, salmon, sweet potatoes, sunflower seeds, spinach, bell peppers, cauliflower, and turnip greens. Vitamin B12 is found in salmon, tuna, cod, shrimp, and beef.

3 Foods to LOOKOUT for and avoid:

  1. Red meat (beef, pork, or lamb) and processed meats can increase the risk of colorectal cancer. Processed meats (such as bacon, hot dogs, and sausage) need to be avoided as they raise the risk of cardiovascular disease and If eating red meat, make sure it’s pasture-raised, grass fed & finished.
  2. Alcohol, especially daily heavy drinking, is associated with a high risk of aggressive prostate cancer. In addition, alcohol is a poison that wreaks havoc on the liver and kidneys.
  3. Aim for protein-rich foods that have low concentrations of solid fats or ones that contain healthier, polyunsaturated oils. Cold-water fish, salmon, tuna, beans, peas, and lentils are all protein-rich and nutrient-dense.

A diet that has a rich variety of essential nutrients will give your body the proper nutrition that it needs.
